Death is a Promise
That there is another side.
The Earnest of Eternity;
A slim channel between
today and Tomorrow.

Death is a Promise
That full Redemption still waits.
The Great Price has been fully paid;
A blood-soaked settlement.
But Home is yet to come.

Death is a Promise
That there is another side.
They walk through but leave us behind
Our tears sprinkle the point
That marks the Great Divide.

Death is a Promise
That Resurrection will follow.
Corruption forever eschewed
Dazzling Incorruption
Glorious Day of Christ.
Damian Philip, December 12, 2014, our Forever Baby #3

It’s been a week since Damian’s 9th birthday. I guess it took me a week to feel like I wanted to talk about it here. Nine years is a long time. Almost a decade. It feels like he was born yesterday and a lifetime ago simultaneously. The two months between his birth and death feel like two months of saying good-bye, even today. But his death is yet a promise and one I cling to with my whole soul. Good-byes are not for forever. Thank God.
